Celebrating outstanding results and progress
Many congratulations to our Year 11 students who today celebrated a record-breaking set of results!
The overall pass rate across all subjects increased for the second year running at all key boundaries, with almost 25% of all grades at 7-9, 59% of grades at 5 or above, and 69.9% of grades at 4 or above - all of which place us comfortably above the national averages. Students did very well in the 'Basics' subjects of English and Maths, with the highest ever proportion of Tallis students achieving grades 5 or above and grade 7 or above in both subjects (excluding the Covid years when grades were awarded through alternative assessment processes)!
There are far too many individual success stories to list them all, but among a few of our very highest performers were Alexandra M who achieved 9 x grade 9s, and 2 x grade 8s; Amy J who got 9 x grade 9s, 1 x grade 8 and 1 x grade 7; Elliot T who got 8 x grade 9s, 1 x grade 8 and 1 x grade 7, and Evan MB who got 7 x grade 9s and 4 x grade 8s.
As well as those students with high grades, a huge number of our students have achieved significant individual successes and progress this year - many of whom have faced a number of challenges along the way. We are extremely proud of all our students and their achievements.

Key Stage 5 Results 2026
Celebrating consistently excellent A-level and BTEC results
Tallis continues to perform strongly. Our 2026 ‘Value-Added’ score for A-level shows that the sixth form is in the top 25% of all sixth forms in the UK for student progress from individual starting point; our BTEC score places us in the top 40%.
This year more than three hundred and fifty students in Year 13 sat their final exams in May and June, and nearly all are taking up university, apprenticeship or conservatoire places, the great majority at their first choice of institution or firm. We believe that as in previous years well over a third of our applicants are continuing to Russell Group universities, and two thirds are going on to the ‘Russell Group Plus’ – that is, the Russell Group itself, plus top-10-for-subject and highly specialist single-faculty institutions (SOAS, UAL, Bath etc). We are confident that all who wanted to progress to university were able to do so, and that all who chose Higher Apprenticeships as their progression pathway were successful also.
25.2% of A-level entries obtained A*/A grades, 57% achieved A*-B grades and 81.3% were A*-C grades. At A-level 84 students gained the equivalent of ABB or better and the pass rate in all our A-level subjects was 98.8%, exactly the same as last year. BTEC students also performed brilliantly: 64 achieved three Distinction grades – equivalent to AAA at A-level – or higher, 70.9% of BTEC grades were at Distinction or Distinction* level, and 99% of BTEC grades were at Merit or higher. There was a 99% pass rate.

Alice H (A*A*C) is heading to City St George's for Business with Marketing, where she is joined by Yezda D (D*DD) who is to study Law; Shannon K (DDM) is to study Social Work at Goldsmith's where she is joined by Aliya Q (D*DD) who will be studying Applied Psychology; Elton K(D*DD) is to read Accounting and Finance at Greenwich, joined by Jayden G (DDD) reading Law; Hassan H (AADistinction) heads to KCL to read Chemistry, joined by Richard V (A*AB) reading Economics; Sarah H (AAA) is to read Medicine at QMW, joined by Sterlyn A (D*DD) who will read Marketing and Management; Duong N (D*DD) is to begin an Art Foundation at UAL and Viktoriia R (A*A*A*A) will read Theoretical Physics at UCL. Nick G (A*A*A) is beginning an Engineering apprenticeship at Siemens and Prosper V (AAB) an apprenticeship at Deutsche Bank – and Nakai O (DDD) will be starting Computer Science at Brunel. Tallis's strength as a performing arts and visual arts specialist remains evident: Sebastian H (ABB) begins Music Production at LCM, joined by Ida L who will be studying Music; Lulu S (D*DB) is to start Contemporary Dance at Trinity Laban; Niamh H (A*BB) begins Fine Art at the Slade and Lottie M (ABD) Photography and Creative Industries at UAL.
Others have chosen destinations in the south-east. For instance, Emmanuel O (DDD) shortly begins Accounting and Finance at Kent; Libby P (A*AA) shortly begins English at Oxford; Apple R (BBC) begins Nursing at Southampton; Lucas D (D*DD) begins Business and Management at Sussex, and Taqwa Z (D*D*D*) begins Diagnostic Radiography at Canterbury. Kayleigh H (D*D) and Emily T (D*DC) will shortly begin Media Production at Bournemouth; Sammy S (BBD) starts the Music Production and Songwriting course at BIMM. Eli P (ABB) and Nancy E (A*AB) both start an Art Foundation at Kingston.
Some head west. For example, Mateus B (A*A*A*) and Emil D (AAA) are both studying Architecture at Bath, joined by Kairo H (A*AA) who will be an Economics student and Tom W (A*AA) who will read Politics and Economics. Misha R (A*A*A*) is reading Maths at Bristol; Phoebe C (D*DD) and Edee N (DDD) are both reading Marketing and Management at Exeter – and Emily P (DDD) shortly begins Fine Art at Plymouth Arts University.
Many are to the Midlands and the North. Amy L (A*A*A*), Tallulah P (A*A*A*) and Oliver P (A*A*A*) are all to read Natural Science at Cambridge, joined by Jess P (A*A*A*) who is to read the exciting new Design course there. Poppy W (DDD) shortly starts Illustration at Lincoln, and Merryn C (A*A*B), Andria B (AAA) and Chamonix J (ABC) are all headed for Warwick, the first to read HSPS, the second Computer Systems Engineering, and the last Film Production. Northerners include Niko B (A*A*A, Durham, History), Louise K (A*AB, Sociology and Data Analytics), Alex P (A*A*A, Politics and International Relations), Divine A (A*AA, Chemical Engineering) – all three for Manchester - plus Owen W (AAB, Newcastle, Medicine), Anisa M (D*DB, Nottingham, Law), Nima E (AAA, York, Linguistics) and Minnie W (ABC, York, English). Further, Arlo P (AAC) is commencing Folk Music at Leeds Conservatoire and will be joined by Hanako D (ABD) who is studying Art and Design at Leeds itself.
The list above could have another three hundred names on it, and each person therein merits individual praise for the excellence of their individual achievements. We continue to believe that Tallis may consider itself to be one of Britain’s flagship comprehensive schools.

We are very proud of our A Level and BTEC students for the fantastic results that they have achieved this year. A Levels and BTECs are tough, and represent a significant increase in challenge from GCSEs; our students have shown great persistence and discipline and diligent and tireless work. As ever I am very grateful to the staff here at the school who work so hard to support our students, and also to the families who continue to support us in everything we do. We wish the students the very best of luck for whatever path they are following from here, and we hope that we have provided an enjoyable and inspirational education to enable them to understand the world and change it for the better!
