EDUCATION TO UNDERSTAND THE WORLD & CHANGE IT FOR THE BETTER

Governance and legal status

We are proud to be a community school, maintained by The Royal Borough of Greenwich. We trade as Thomas Tallis School. The Tallis Governing Board have been awarded the Governor Mark in recognition of the fantastic support they provide to the school. Governor Mark is a national award. It is a kite mark which provides external evaluation of the quality of governance in a school.
Picture
The task of the governing board is to govern the school, focusing on the core functions of providing strategic leadership, holding the Headteacher to account and making sure the school’s money is well spent. The Governing Board includes Parent Governors; One Staff Governor, Co-opted Governors and the Headteacher. Governors divide their responsibilities between three sub committees who report on their work to the Full Governing Body every six to seven weeks during term time. Governors also visit the school during the working day when possible.
