Thomas Tallis is a flourishing and popular school situated in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. In 2011 we moved to a new £52 million building with state of the art facilities and infrastructure.  We currently have 2000 pupils on the school roll including over 600 students in our highly competitive sixth form.

Counsellor  (Part-time - 3 days per week)  

Grade: Scale 6

Contract: Part-time, 3 days (0.6 FTE) Wed, Thurs, Friday

Start date: ASAP
 
We wish to appoint a first-class Counsellor to deliver a safe and professional counselling service accessible to all students.  You will develop, under the guidance of the Head of the LSU, a service that will help support students and positively impact on retention, achievement and attainment of vulnerable and underachieving students.
 
Male counsellors are underrepresented in this field within the school, we would therefore actively encourage applications from male candidates.
 
 
We are looking for someone who has:

  • a Higher Professional Diploma (or higher) in Counselling or Psychotherapy
  • registered membership of the BACP or UKCP
  • a professional, kind and calm manner
  • a deep knowledge of therapeutic approaches that work with children and adolescents

Education Assistant for Interventions

Contract: Part-time, permanent, 21 hours per week (3 days), Term time only

Salary: Grade 5 (actual salary up to £14,048 pa)

Start Date: September 2022
 

We wish to appoint a first-class Education (Teaching) Assistant to support student interventions and, under the supervision of the SENDCO, take an active role in addressing the needs of our students who need particular help to overcome barriers to learning.   In this role you will design and deliver learning for small groups as well as prepare the students beforehand for their learning experiences.

Education / Teaching Assistant in the Deaf Support Centre – both full and part-time

Grade: Scale 4 (Actual Salary: up to £21,419 pa)

Contract: 35 hours per week, Term-time only - part time hours also available

Start Date: September 2022
 
 
Due to an increase in requirements for next academic year, we wish to appoint a number of Education Assistants in the Deaf Support Centre.  The ideal candidate will have a minimum requirement of BSL Level 2 or above. The candidate must be able to support deaf students in the mainstream class; ensuring lesson content is accessible to deaf learners. This role will complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for learning activities under an agreed system of supervision for students within the DSC provision. This will involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups and monitoring students and assessing, recording and reporting on students’ achievement, progress and development.
 
Thomas Tallis is open to flexible working and would welcome applications from candidates seeking either full or part-time hours. 
 
We are looking for someone who has:
 
  • BSL Level 2 or above
  • excellent communication and organisational skills
  • ideally some experience of working with secondary age children and young people
  • a professional, kind and calm manner

Grade: Sessional - £10 per hour

Contract: Sessional during term time

We are seeking reliable people to implement examination procedures and ensure the proper conduct of examination candidates.  Experience is not essential; training will be provided.
 
You will have a good standard of education to GCSE.
 
Be able to work constructively as part of a team.
