EDUCATION TO UNDERSTAND THE WORLD & CHANGE IT FOR THE BETTER

The curriculum at key stage 4 offers a broad and balanced curriculum with both rigour and choice. All students will be required to follow GCSE courses in English, maths, 2 or 3 sciences, at least one ‘Ebacc’ subject (geography, history, French, Spanish or computer science), then 3 further option subjects. We encourage more able students to do both a humanity and a language, but this is not compulsory. All students continue to do core PE and PSHCE. All KS4 students will continue to be taught RE and computer science across the various subjects in the curriculum, through PSHCE and through ‘drop down days’ across the 2 years.

Subjects are broken up into the following hours per fortnight:

Throughout their subjects across the curriculum, we will encourage students to develop their Tallis Habits and character. This is because we believe these are an integral part of being a successful and positive member of our community and beyond. At Tallis, we also believe strongly in a co-curriculum whereby students have opportunities and experiences to further their understanding of the world. This means that key stage 4 students will be encouraged to attend numerous trips, events and after school activities.
