TALLIS INTERNATIONAL
Thomas Tallis School has been awarded the Intermediate International School and UNESCO Associated Schools Awards. This is in recognition of the work to date in promoting global awareness and the ambitious plans we have for further developing this aspect of the wider curriculum.
We currently have mutually beneficial relationships with several schools in countries across the world including: Ørestad Skole in Copenhagen and Vordingborg Gymnasium (Denmark), Prva gimnazija in Maribor (Slovenia), Skåbu oppvekst (Norway) and Jiangcui Junior High School, New Taipei City (Taiwan). We are very fortunate in being able to send two colleagues each year to Taiwan as part of our sister school agreement. We enjoy receiving visits from abroad to Tallis from both students and colleagues who work in education. This is very much part of our ambition to understand the world so that we can, collectively, change it for the better.
On Thursday 20th April, we were visited by students from our Taiwanese sister school Jiangcui High School. 33 Taiwanese students were buddied up with selected Year 8 Tallis students, and shadowed them for their lessons. The day ended in a mass rounders game followed by some excellent talent sharing!
